Never Walked So Much and I love Beans and Rice!

Trevor arriving in Londrina with other missionaries

Hey guys!

My first week in Londrina! Where to start? My first companion and trainer is Elder N. He´s an American! Haha! He´s a super cool and super nice guy! He´s a great missionary too.

We didn´t really have any investigators when we got to our area, other than I think 1 more or less. But we had two investigators at church yesterday! My companion and I were assigned to the Q area. My ward is pretty cool as far as I can tell! Tons of people are super nice.
When we first got into the apartment, my companion told me that we were assigned to give talks this week on Sunday for Sacrament meeting. Luckily mine only had to be 5 minutes. It went pretty well. I explained how it was my first week in the field and that I didn´t speak Português  very well yet. But after my talk people kept telling me I speak great, especially for this being my first week in the field.

Trevor Made it to Londrina!

Trevor with Pres. and Sister Genaro

Londrina, 18th of March, 2014
Dear Family of Elder Jackson,
We are writing to inform you that on the 18th of March, 2014, Elder Jackson arrived very well in the Brazil Londrina Mission field. We are very happy to meet him and to know that from now on he is part of this great and wonderful army of the Savior. After a long wait and much preparation, he along other missionaries arrived at the mission home safely and very excited. They had lunch and then a great testimony meeting. The Brazil Londrina Mission is an incredible place where the people are hearing and accepting the gospel of Jesus Christ. It is an honor for us to be able to receive your son in this area, and we know that this is possible only because you have so lovingly taught, guided and cared for him until he could arrive here. We want you to know that we will look to fulfill all his needs, and will take care of him as if he were our own son. Thank you for trusting us with your son for this short however fundamental period of time in his life!
We are at your disposition to clear up or help in any way during this time.

With gratefulness and love President and Sister Genaro,

Last Week in the CTM!!! What a Week!

March 13, 2014

Hey Guys!

Lots to say,  and not a lot of time to say it.   I'm in a Brazilian district! They came to me a few days before my companions left and asked me about it. So yeah! Everyone in my district is Brazilian! My companion is Elder B! He's a super nice guy and a great missionary. But he talks SOOOO fast!  In fact, everyone in my district is super nice. BUT I DON'T HAVE A CLUE WHAT THEY'RE SAYING MOST OF THE TIME! HAHA! Yeah it's pretty tough, but I feel like I’m learning faster and it's good practice for heading out into the field.

I Went Proselyting! It Was Awesome!

Hey guys!

Another week at the CTM in Brazil! That's awesome that Katie got her VISA. It's too bad that she's going to get here after I'm gone though. Everything is going pretty well out here! I'm still getting better at Portuguese every day, but not as fast as I was the first few weeks. That's what someone told me would happen though. It's definitely coming. I'm still having trouble understanding a lot when people talk, especially outside the CTM. I do pretty well when they talk about gospel stuff but when  they talk about most anything else I get kind of lost.

The food here is still pretty good! I'm actually starting to like it a lot! I never knew that I liked beans and rice! Ha Ha!  JK  They have a lot of other stuff. But they still have a lot of beans and rice.
